Merely giving words of thanks and praise to your employees may not be enough to show them that you truly do recognize their worth but there are certain means by which you can make them feel valued and ready to do their very best for your organization”

  1. Give them the opportunity to express their opinions:

Have confidence that all your employees are smart before taking decisions on your own. You should grant your employees enough respect for them to be able to suggest their ideas. In addition to making them feel valued, you will also gain ideas from those who are working on the ground and coming into close contact with your customers. They may come up with ideas which you may never have thought of yourself.

  1. Listen properly: Showing that you are really listening to what they are saying sends out a positive signal and is an extremely easy way to show respect. Some people get so wound up in their business affairs that they fail to make time for this, making the excuse that they are in a hurry and asking their employees to sum up what they have to say in brief. This form of communication tells the employee that what they have to say is of no value to you. All you need to do is to pay close attention to listening to the ideas your employees are trying to offer you for the benefit of the organization so that they know that you value them. This will make them want to work hard for you and your organization.
  2. Give credit to your employees: In addition to just asking questions and listening to the answers, another means with which you can show respect to your employees is to have confidence in them and put their ideas before your own without fear that you may end up on the losing end. Supporting your employees is a means of praising and appreciating them and this makes them feel proud of themselves and also proud to be working for someone like you.
