Interest under the Law
The Lao PDR law recognizes the freedom in expressing intents of contractual parties. However, such intents shall not violate the laws and social order which means that the parties to a contract may agree on any terms which do not violate the laws. Today, I would like to discuss about loan interest which I previously discussed in the last edition, and readers were interested and asked questions about the legal consequence of the situation where the parties agreed on an extremely high interest rate.
