Outstanding achievements in the first 4 months of 2019
If you have followed news regarding the 7th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly 8th Legislature which was just concluded, you might have heard a report from Prime Minister ThonglounSisoulith regarding the implementation of the National Socio-Economic Development and State Budget Plan for the first 4 months; forecast for the first 6 months and direction for the last 6 months of 2019. Therefore, Target Magazine this issue would like to present to you some outstanding achievements during the past 4 months with the following details:
- Production of dry season rice reached 453,230 tons or 10.3% as planned (National Assembly’s resolution aims for 4.4 million tons), expected production of corn as livestock feed of about 30,000 tons or 3% as planned (the resolution targets 1 million tons), and expected production of cassava of approximately 113,056 tons or 4.9% as planned (the resolution plans for 2.28 million tons). In addition, the Government allocated its fund in relieving impacts from flood which occurred in 2018 by approving the emergency fund for agriculture-forestry sector for 40 billion kip and disaster recovery fund for 115.52 billion kip. To date, most of the fund has been implemented with some waited to be spent for procurement and employment of project operators in order for rice production to resume its normal operation.
